Are you an experienced Drayage Dispatcher with hands-on experience coordinating container movements through the Port of New York and New Jersey? This opportunity could be for you!
We’re looking for a detail-oriented, proactive professional who understands port drayage operations, communicates effectively with drivers and customers, and can manage multiple shipments while proactively resolving delays, appointment issues, and other operational challenges.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate and dispatch drayage shipments throughout the NY/NJ port area.
- Schedule container pickups, deliveries, returns, and port/terminal appointments.
- Track containers and monitor shipment status from availability through final delivery and empty return.
- Coordinate daily with drivers, terminals, warehouses, customers, and internal teams.
- Monitor free time, Last Free Day (LFD), demurrage, detention, and potential storage charges.
- Verify container availability, holds, releases, appointments, and terminal requirements.
- Provide customers with timely and accurate shipment updates.
- Proactively identify delays or operational issues and communicate/escalate them appropriately.
- Maintain accurate shipment information and documentation in the company's TMS or dispatch system.
- Manage multiple shipments and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
