We are looking for a motivated Sales Development Representative to drive outbound prospecting for our freight brokerage sales team. In this role, you will identify and engage decision-makers, qualify opportunities, and book meetings for the sales team, while building a strong foundation in the full sales cycle with a clear path toward an Account Executive or closing role.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct consistent outbound prospecting through cold calls, email, LinkedIn, and other creative outreach channels to identify and engage potential customers.
- Make a high volume of outbound calls and send personalized emails to decision-makers and prospective customers.
- Research target companies to identify the right contacts, decision-makers, and business opportunities.
- Use prospecting tools such as Leads411, LinkedIn Sales Navigator, Apollo, or similar platforms to find contact information and build prospect lists.
- Qualify prospects based on company fit, business needs, current transportation requirements, and opportunity potential.
- Book qualified meetings and hand prospects off to the appropriate sales team member, ensuring they are properly prepared.
- Shadow initial exploration calls, when appropriate, to understand each prospect's business, transportation needs, challenges, and potential fit.
- Nurture prospects who are not yet ready to engage, following up consistently until the timing is right.
- Maintain accurate prospect, activity, and opportunity information in Salesforce or the company's designated CRM.
- Track calls, emails, meetings, follow-ups, and next steps to ensure no qualified opportunity is lost.
- Collaborate with sales and marketing to refine messaging, identify effective outreach strategies, and improve lead-generation efforts.
- Stay informed about the company's services, value proposition, and freight brokerage operations to communicate effectively with prospects.
- Consistently meet the activity and meeting-generation goals set by the sales team.
- Build a strong understanding of the full sales cycle, with the long-term goal of progressing into a closing role.
