The After Hours Dispatcher is responsible for coordinating operations, customer communication, and load management during after-hours operations, ensuring seamless support across terminals and maintaining accurate system updates.
• Notify customers of redelivery fees, detention, placard removal, ETAs, and late arrivals with proper explanations
• Provide load details (pieces, weight, seals) and respond to customer inquiries promptly
• Send PODs, EIRs/J1s upon request and follow up with drivers if documentation is missing
• Track drivers, monitor shipments, and provide accurate ETA updates
• Support street turns by updating notes, timestamps, initials, and uploading approvals in the system
• Assist with rail billing submissions and ensure proper system documentation with date/time and initials
• Monitor and manage dispatch inbox, escalating urgent issues as needed
• Communicate with dispatch regarding loaded, empty, and drop container statuses
• Update system records including off-hire locations, shipment status, and documentation tracking
• Follow up on missing documentation and ensure proper file organization
• Support export scheduling and monitor rail windows and cut-off dates when needed
• Assist with equipment coordination and operational support across terminals
Descripción
Requerimientos
• 2+ years of experience in logistics, dispatch, customer service, or transportation operations
• Experience in drayage, intermodal, trucking, or logistics operations preferred
• Strong English communication skills (written and spoken)
• Strong organizational and multitasking skills
• Ability to work independently during after-hours shifts
• Experience with TMS systems preferred
• High attention to detail and problem-solving skills
• Ability to handle urgent situations professionally
