Niuro is hiring a Senior Database Engineer for a technology company modernizing database operations with AI. You will run SQL Server and other engines on AWS and Azure while building Python agents that automate DBA work end to end.

Operate and optimize SQL Server, PostgreSQL, Oracle and Azure SQL on AWS and Azure: performance, backups, HA/DR, Always On, replication.
Run daily database work through AI tools and MCP connections from the command line.
Design and deploy autonomous Python agents that automate DBA workflows, with safety controls and human oversight.
Respond to incidents and support migrations, moving over time from doing tasks to supervising the agents that do them.

100% remote, long-term contract with Niuro.

Requerimientos

5+ years as a DBA or Database Engineer with strong production SQL Server.
Hands-on LLM or agent-based automation (custom tools, RAG or MCP), not just using ChatGPT.
Cloud databases on AWS and/or Azure.
Strong Python and scripting.
Solid performance troubleshooting on live systems.
C1 English.

Nice to have: PostgreSQL or Oracle on RDS, Azure SQL DB, MongoDB, streaming or Airflow.
