Booking & Freight Coordinator

We're seeking a tech-savvy, detail-oriented Booking & Freight Coordinator to coordinate all domestic and international freight operations for a fast-growing wholesale materials company managing 100+ shipments monthly. This person will manage bookings, documentation, carrier relationships, and shipment tracking from pre-load through delivery.

Daily Responsibilities

Monitor and action all date-critical booking events and deadlines
Follow up with vendors, agents, and carriers on load status across multiple time zones
Book drayage, trucking (FTL/LTL), and ocean freight
Track shipments from pre-loading through final delivery/port arrival
Manage booking department tickets and resolve issues promptly
Complete all daily tasks on time—meeting deadlines is critical
Update and maintain operational data across all systems

Key Operational Tasks

Obtain and manage AES codes for export compliance
Review and compare booking rates between freight agents
Analyze and approve shipping documents (BL, SWB, draft versions)
Submit corrections and change requests on bookings
Coordinate loading appointments with suppliers and carriers
Maintain current rate databases for drayage and transportation
Enter bookings and documentation into internal systems
Solve problems and coordinate with international customers and partners across time zones
